The Humble Indie Bundle is an awesome concept. Cool games, name-your-price, and money goes to indie developers and charities.
Problem: I don’t have time to play these games.
Solution: I buy a gift code and give the bundle away to a random twitter user. We both feel better about ourselves.
Instructions: Just retweet this message. You don’t have to be a follower of mine, but hey — if you want to follow me I won’t complain. I’ll pick a random retweet by Wednesday and give someone the gift URL.
Exbeeriment #1: Atwater Block Brewery Cherry Stout
I love Michigan beers. Besides the whole “support your local brewer” thing, Michigan breweries just keep getting better and better at their craft, year after year. Atwater is a great example — I have yet to try one of their beers that I didn’t like.
Their Cherry Stout is no exception. I love stouts, but I’m not always a fan of the bitter taste stouts can have. The added cherry concentrate (from Michigan cherries, of course) helps sweeten the taste, as well as impart a unique tartness that makes this a winner in my book.
Exbeeriment = Success!
I’ve been on a chip sound kick lately, and decided to make some ringtones and notification sounds. Two ringtones and sixteen notification sounds to be exact, emulating some of my favorite sounds from the 8-bit era. I made these for my Droid, but feel free to use them on your mp3-capable device. Listen to the preview above, and then download them here: Ringtones & Notifications - Byte It Pack #1
For you audio nerds, I used a combination of Plogue Chipsounds and the built-in generators of FL Studio. The entire collection was also composed and sequenced in FL Studio.
